Unofficial English translation of NMPA Announcement No. 51 of 2026 (29 May 2026). The Chinese official text prevails.
NMPA announces that eight test methods are incorporated into the Safety and Technical Standards for Cosmetics, including the method for trivalent chromium and hexavalent chromium in cosmetics.
This is a methods pack. It updates how compliance is demonstrated. It is not, by itself, a new prohibition list. Implementation dates for each method are in the official announcement and method texts. Contract laboratories should switch SOPs to the named methods by those dates.
