Official English from the ASEAN Cosmetic Directive and the ASEAN cosmetic sector page.
The ASEAN Cosmetic Directive provides a common definition of a cosmetic product and requires that cosmetic products placed on the market in a Member State be notified to that Member State’s competent authority and be manufactured according to the ASEAN Guidelines for Cosmetic Good Manufacturing Practice.
Ingredient restrictions are set out in the ACD annexes (prohibited substances, restricted substances, colouring agents, preservatives and UV filters). Those annexes are updated through the ASEAN Cosmetic Scientific Body process and then given effect by each Member State’s own instrument.
