The Largest Cosmetics Manufacturing Province in China: Guangdong

Guangdong is the largest cosmetics province in China, and the total output value of Guangdong’s cosmetics industry ranks first in the country. 

Till September of this year, Guangdong has 3,008 licensed cosmetics manufacturers, accounting for about 56.5% of the country’s total; The number of domestic cosmetics notifications in Guangdong is 1.028 million licenses in total, accounting for about 72.6% of the national cosmetics licenses issued.

At the same time, the export value of Guangdong cosmetics in 2021 will account for 35.1% of the country, the no.1 ranking in the country. Compared with European and American products, china’s cosmetics are catching up rapidly in recent years, and their international influence is gradually increasing.

In recent years, the production technology and quality management system of some large-scale cosmetics enterprises in Guangdong are gradually being upgraded, and the technical level and product quality level of some advantageous enterprises are comparable to those of world-class products. 

For example, Marubi has set up multinational dual R&D centers in Guangzhou and Tokyo, Japan, to achieve R&D and quality control in line with international standards; in recent years, the newly-emerged facial mask products produced by Ruisen have entered the cosmetics retail platform Sephora, and their sales have been in the forefront for a long time. Guangzhou Zhongcaoji won the international design award “German Red Dot Award”.
